Hi, I'm Ammar. I am a qualified engineer with a sharp commercial mind, dedicated to helping businesses maximise growth and protect their bottom-line profitability. I specialise in winning high-value new business, accelerating sales pipelines, and navigating complex commercial negotiations. By bridging the gap between technical details and executive-level logic, I focus on turning complex challenges into clear financial success for companies looking to protect margins and scale effectively.
Sales Engineer with a BEng (Hons) in Electrical Engineering, I bridge heavy industrial systems (PLCs, robotics, vision, automation) and the revenue that runs businesses. From the shop floor to the boardroom, I make complex engineering sound inevitable.
About Me
I'm Ammar, a Sales Engineer who gets genuinely excited by a well-structured PLC program and a beautifully timed commercial close. I studied Electrical & Electronic Engineering (BEng Hons) at the University of Hull, then a top-up BEng at the University of Huddersfield, so I speak both "Engineer" and "Business", often in the same sentence.
My edge: I walk into a technical review, earn credibility with real engineering depth, robotics, vision systems, control architecture, then walk into a boardroom and turn that credibility into a signed contract. I've done it across industrial automation, renewable energy and emergency-response vehicles, selling to OEMs and end users across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and beyond.
Complex, multi-stakeholder capital-equipment cycles are my natural habitat. Map the buying committee. Build the business case. Survive three rounds of budget scrutiny. Win the line, and the service contract that follows it.

What I bring
Career History
From fire trucks to solar roofs to aftersales and digital services, each chapter added a new layer to how I develop new business and grow recurring revenue. (Figures below are illustrative, swap for your real numbers.)
Mpac Lambert, Ingenious Automation
Industrial Automation, Aftersales & Digital Services
Growing recurring revenue across the installed base, aftersales contracts, predictive maintenance packages, digital monitoring and digital twin attach rate, from opportunity identification through to renewal. Closed Β£3.2M of aftersales and digital service contracts across the UK, Ireland & Benelux in year one, attached predictive maintenance packages to 7 of 9 eligible sites, and grew recurring spares and service revenue +28% through targeted installed-base campaigns.
Tesla, Solar & Powerwall
Renewable Energy, Solar Roof & Home Battery Storage
Ran ROI calculations and technical demonstrations for residential and commercial solar installations. Delivered 140+ solar & storage proposals at a 31% close rate, and cross-sold Powerwall on 46% of solar deals, lifting average order value by roughly 22%. Translated complex energy economics into simple, confident investment decisions.
Angloco Limited
Emergency Response Vehicles & Fire Suppression Systems
Managed pre-sales for specialist emergency-response and fire-suppression vehicles, a niche, highly regulated market where tender accuracy is non-negotiable. Authored competitive tenders for fire & rescue fleets across the UK, Middle East and West Africa at a 63% win rate, and secured multi-year parts & service contracts worth Β£1.2M.
Talk Direct, Leeds
B2B Technology Sales
Built the commercial foundation in a fast-paced technology sales environment, developing the core habits around pipeline management, objection handling and value-based positioning that underpin everything since.
Aftersales, Digital Monitoring & Predictive Services
For OEMs, system integrators and manufacturing sites across every tier of the supply chain, the installed base is where the relationship really begins. Predictive maintenance, digital monitoring, digital twins and vision/replay camera systems keep lines running longer, cut downtime, and turn every account into a recurring-revenue relationship.
The story I tell buyers: measure it, and you can improve it. Overall Equipment Effectiveness = Availability Γ Performance Γ Quality.
Every one ties back to the same commercial promise: run longer, break less, stay current.
A live virtual replica of the line for virtual commissioning and "what-if" simulation, cutting installation risk and slashing time-to-first-product.
Real-time Availability, Performance & Quality dashboards that turn invisible losses into a prioritised improvement roadmap.
Inline inspection, defect detection and full traceability, plus replay camera systems that let a line reviewer scrub back to the exact moment a fault occurred.
Condition monitoring on motors, bearings and drives, fixing issues during planned stops instead of mid-shift failures.
Lifecycle planning for control hardware, future-proofing the asset and protecting it against unplanned, costly rebuilds.
Secure remote diagnostics, software updates and expert support, recurring-revenue service contracts that keep customers close.
By the Numbers
Illustrative placeholders to show the format, swap in your own verified numbers any time.
Successfully influenced, negotiated, and secured over Β£2,000,000 in high-value commercial agreements across international customer portfolios.
Consistently surpassed performance expectations, beating aggressive business revenue quotas and territory development goals by up to 115%.
Led data-driven strategic initiatives and full-lifecycle contract management that drove a 46% increase in bottom-line divisional profitability.
Capabilities
The business development skills, technical knowledge and frameworks I deploy on every engagement.
I teach, tailor and take control, reframing a customer's assumptions to reveal problems they hadn't considered. That's where the real competitive advantage lives.
Situation β Problem β Implication β Need-Payoff. Structured questioning that guides buyers to the conclusion themselves. No push, just logic.
Strategic selling for complex, multi-stakeholder deals. Map the economic buyers, technical buyers and coaches, leave no decision-maker uncovered.

About Ammar
Outside of client meetings and tender deadlines, I'm the person who reads the datasheet for fun and then can't stop talking about it at dinner. I grew up curious about how things work, from taking apart the family PC at 12 to now specifying industrial robot cells for a living. That same curiosity spills into everything below: the hobbies, the projects, the causes I care about.

Tinkering with Home Assistant, Zigbee sensors and DIY automations around the house, the same engineering brain, just a smaller scale.
Building small tools and automations in Python and JavaScript, this website included, to keep technical skills sharp outside of sales.
Genuinely fascinated by how factories are designed and scaled, I'll happily go down a YouTube rabbit hole on "how it's made" style automation lines.
Currently working through The Challenger Sale, Factfulness, and a rotating stack of engineering & business biographies.
Weekend projects spanning basic PLC simulations, Raspberry Pi builds, and the odd 3D-printed bracket for something that definitely didn't need one.
A carry-over from my time at Tesla, I still follow battery storage, solar and grid technology closely, purely out of interest.
Selling into 12 countries gave me a taste for it, I try to combine work trips with time to actually explore each place.
Gym a few times a week, helps clear the head after a long day of tender writing and stakeholder calls.
Mostly spent between family, friends, and whatever half-finished home-automation project is currently taking over the living room.
Occasional talks to local students on engineering & careers in industrial automation, encouraging more young people into STEM.
Supporting local fundraising initiatives and charity runs, details to be added.
